Caramel Apple Drizzle
Wonderfully easy dessert to enjoy anytime!
Wash and slice your favorite apples. Drizzle with caramel syrup. You can add a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream and pecans to make it even better!
Caramel Apple Crisp
6 large or 8 medium apples, washed, peeled and sliced (Gala and Fuji are excellent choices)
1/2 cup sugar (Tartness of apples vary. Adjust sugar to taste. Add a touch of lemon juice if needed.)
2 tablespoons tapioca
1 teaspoon apple pie spice (can substitute 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon ginger)
About 1/2 small jar caramel sauce
2 cups quick oats (uncooked)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter (Vegetable oil can be substituted if desired. Do not use olive oil or whipped margarine.)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix apples, sugar, tapioca and apple pie spice in large bowl. Spray pie plate or square pan with non-stick cooking spray and add apple mixture. Lightly drizzle with caramel sauce.
Mix oatmeal, brown sugar and butter until it forms a crumbly mixture. Sprinkle over caramel apple filling.
Bake at 350 until apples are soft and topping is golden brown. (Approximately 45 minutes.)
