Enjoy warm spiced apple cider after any of your favorite fall activities! It's a cozy and healthy way to warm up that kids and adults both love!
In a pot or crockpot, heat one gallon of apple cider with one teaspoon of apple pie spice.* Add 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg or cloves if desired. Pour into mugs and garnish with cinnamon sticks.
You may adjust spices to taste. Realize that the flavor of spices intensifies as they are heated, so keep that in mind if you plan to keep the cider warm for a long period of time. (Cloves can become particularly intense, so add them closer to when you will be drinking the cider.)
You can also easily make single servings by heating a cup of cider with a dash of apple pie spice in the microwave.
*For 1 teaspoon of apple pie spice, you may substitute 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of ginger and 1/4 teaspoon allspice.
